We offer in-depth courses for aspiring and established potters
PRIOR TO BOOKING PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF OUR CANCELLATION AND MAKE UP POLICY
CANCELLATIONS Multi-Week Courses: To request a cancellation and refund, you must email info@thevesselstudio.org. Refunds requested more than one week prior to the first class is fully refundable. Refunds requested within one week of the first class are 50% refundable. There will be no refunds once the course begins. Should a class not fill sufficiently, we may cancel it one week prior to the first class session.
One Time Classes: Cancellations made within 24 hours of your scheduled class are not refundable. If something comes up and you are not able to make it to your class, you can always send someone in your place.
MAKE-UP CLASSES If you miss a class, you may make up the missed session by attending a comparable class within the same session. The student is solely responsible for coordinating a make-up class with their designated instructor, do not email or call the studio. Each student may make up no more than one class per 6-week course or three classes per 12-week course.
Make-ups are available subject to the space in the class you wish to attend. If the class is fully attended, you may not make up the class at that time. Make-ups are not guaranteed, but are offered according to availability as a courtesy to our students.

Kid’s and Teen Courses
for the young potters
Perfect for young artists looking for a unique sensory experience and a playful introduction to pottery.
Students will receive instruction on the basics of ceramics including hand-building, throwing, and glazing basic foundational forms. Class time includes demonstrations, opportunities for one-on-one instruction, and independent exploration.
By the end of our time together students will understand the foundational vocabulary and processes of ceramics, with an emphasis on wheel throwing.
Tools and materials will be provided.

Class time includes demonstrations, opportunities for one-on-one instruction, and independent exploration.
Focused Continuing Courses move beyond the foundational skills of centering, pulling, trimming, and glazing. While there will be time to review and build upon those skills, the primary focus will be learning new content specific skills.
Each Focused Continuing Course description includes a list of prerequisites. Students must meet all prerequisites listed below prior to booking a Focused Continuing Course. Tools and materials will be provided.

While this is beginner level in regards to underglaze, students should be closer to intermediate level in their throwing.

- comfortable trimming

Perfect for makers at any skill level looking for a clay outlet that is gentler on the body or looking to expand their skillset beyond the wheel.
Students will receive instruction on various handbuilding techniques including pinch, slab, coil, etc. Project prompts will be provided with the opportunity for individuals to explore their own ideas if desired. Class time includes demonstrations, opportunities for one-on-one instruction, and independent exploration.
By the end of our time together students will understand the foundational skills of handbuilding and equipped to continue furthering and building upon those skills.
